The meeting brought together a large number of young people, social activists, community figures, and The Raparin Youth Organization, in coordination with the University of Sulaimani, organized an important event titled “Youth and Migration Meeting.” This event was one of the largest social and humanitarian gatherings in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region and was held in the hall of the University of Sulaimani. families of victims who lost their lives on dangerous migration routes. The main purpose of this activity was to seriously address the issue of migration and its humanitarian consequences, and to deliver the voices and suffering of the victims’ families to the responsible institutions, particularly the Ministry of Migration and Displacement of Iraq and international consulates.
The meeting also aimed to open meaningful social dialogue about the risks of irregular migration and the need for fundamental solutions that protect young people’s lives and prevent the repetition of tragic incidents that have caused deep sorrow for many families.
During the program, speeches and discussions were presented, and participants expressed solidarity with the victims’ families while raising awareness about this critical issue. This activity represented an important step toward strengthening the role of youth in society and encouraging greater social responsibility toward humanitarian challenges.
